The Biology of Anthrax international conference - Bari (Italy), September 3 - 6, 2019

Anthrax is a disease caused by the bacterium Bacillus anthracis. While primarily a sporadic pathogen of herbivores, its use as a bio-terror agent has highlighted its ability to infect humans. This conference aims to bring together investigators active in this area with a view to sharing observations and ideas and fostering new collaborations and synergies. Participants at the previous conferences included representatives from academia, industry, policy makers and government.

Presentations will be welcomed in any of the following areas;

  1. Ecology and Epidemiology
  2. Detection, diagnostics and forensic typing methods
  3. Pathology of the disease in animals and humans
  4. Development and distribution of medical countermeasures
  5. Decontamination and remediation
  6. Biosafety and biosecurity

The scientific programme will be completed with speakers selected from the submitted abstracts. Abstracts which are not selected for oral presentation will have the opportunity to be presented as posters.
